Transitions Sale Guidelines

Our sales take place inside the homes of our Transition Clients, so it is essential that all shoppers follow our guidelines and conduct themselves respectfully. We’ve put together these guidelines to ensure each sale runs smoothly and fairly. We want everyone to have a great time at our sales and leave with exciting new purchases.

Our Sales

Our sales typically run from 9-4 on Saturdays. We accept Cash, Credit, and Debit. We do not accept cheques or e-transfer. We do not provide bags or boxes for purchased items. Expect shoppers to arrive early and line up with chairs to sit in while waiting. We do not monitor or manage the line. When the sale ends, we do not continue to sell items. Be aware that our clients can remove items from our sale at any time.

Marking Items

We will mark items you intend to purchase with your name and hold them while you shop. To mark an item, you must call a staff member over to mark the item you intend to purchase (you must be at the item). The first person at the item waiting for a staff member will be the buyer. Please be aware that marking an item is a commitment to purchase it.

Transporting Purchases

We do not have a carryout or delivery service. You are responsible for moving and removing your purchases from the sale before the end of the sale day. You are also responsible for ensuring that your items are moved safely and don’t harm people or the sale location. We may, at our discretion, assist with pickup arrangements or help move large items.

Sale Locations

Our sales occur in our client’s homes. We ask that all shoppers behave like guests in these spaces. We limit the number of people in the home at any one time. Shoes will have to be removed inside the home. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. We do not have publicly accessible washrooms at our sale locations.

Sale Pricing

We do not advertise prices in advance of our sales. Any prices you may have seen in sale photos are subject to change up to and including the morning of the sale. Once the sale starts, we may advertise items online. We will often publish a price with those items. They are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and we don’t hold items for individuals.

Sale Etiquette

We expect our customers to behave appropriately and respect our staff, sale items, and sale location. We do not tolerate verbal abuse or hostility, running, pushing, shoving, or violence and aggression. Anyone acting hostile or abusive will be asked to leave.

Sale Lineups

Transitions customers have a long tradition of lining up early for our sales! They bring lawn chairs and visit with the other early risers and people in line. Many have made long-lasting friendships through their time at our sales.

Be aware that, to keep your place in line, you must be on-site and in line. If you leave the line or your chair unattended, it should be for a brief reprieve to warm up or go for a bathroom break. When you leave, let the people next to you know you will return. No one should be surprised that you are there or where your place is.
