Moving Sales and Moving Support

Moving is one of the most stressing things that a person can do in their life. When you are an older adult moving out of your family home and into a smaller place the task can be particularly daunting. Especially when you may need to move quickly due to health, you may be limited physically in what you can do yourself, or if your family and supports live away.

This is exactly why Transitions was created. We are your comprehensive support to get you through it all.

We offer Senior Moving Management including:

  • Packing and Move preparation

  • Move Management (we will oversee movers)

  • Unpacking and setup in your new home.

We will also take care of what you can’t take with you to ensure that your home is ready for Sale or Possession by the new owners by hosting a Moving Sale on your behalf:

  • Sorting the contents of your home for what can be sold or donated, what needs to be disposed of, and what you might have missed that you might still want

  • Staging an in-home or online moving sale on your behalf.

  • Clearing the home and doing a basic clean so that it is ready for sale or possession.

  • We can create a personalized schedule for you to assist you with your move management. Once you are settled in your new place our process to host a moving sale and clear your home is 2 weeks start to finish!

  • Transitions works at an hourly rate. We bill at $60 per hour plus GST per staff member. There may be additional fees including advertising, materials, garbage removal, credit card merchant fees, or other associated costs.

  • Transitions is able to sell all of the personal property found in the home. We sell:

    • Art (Original, Prints, and commecially produced)

    • Antiques

    • Furniture

    • Decor

    • Coin Collections & Stamp Collections

    • Jewelry (costume and gold/silver)

    • Clothing

    • Gold and Silver

    • Decor

    • Tools

    • Yard and Garden

    • Dishes and Kitchenwares

    • Everything you find in the home, garage, sheds, and yard.

    If it is a good quality used item we can sell it. If it is broken, soiled, damaged, dirty or inoperable we will dispose of it.
